Here is "TheCozy" from the handpainted Colinette collection. I did not use the yarn called for inthe pattern. Stash yarn was more economical. However, I have now purchased the Colinette Isis and Mohair. Because the jacket is a smidge to small. I love the drape and really want to wear this jacket. It was much fun to knit - in all one piece! And the stripes go in the "right direction" for a full figured gal like me!

Redo Day

Have you ever had a day you wish you could do over!  Let me think.....YES!  Take back words...rethink emotion...yep, that would be how I feel about tuesday.  It's gone though, can't get it back.  However, I can learn from it and go on.  Now it is not as omnious as it sounds; but I am sure there will be some sort of therapy hours spent in the distant future of my children saying..."it was an emotional rollercoaster in my house growing up"  and with that statement it would be very true.  So with all that blahther I will ease into my knitting like some people would sink into a hot, steamy, relaxing bath and partake of the healing properties therein.

I'm Baaackkk!!

10 Shops, 4 Days!  Knitting Heaven!  Spinning inspiration!  Kimber, Karen and Kim, the 3 fiberteers, on a mission to see everything yarny!  I had sooo much fun;  of course did I take any pictures noooo, I was to enthralled by yarns, patterns, wheels oh no! 

I am going to put my Majacraft saxony up for sale.  I have fallen in love with the louet - Victoria and want to have it for my very own.  So the wheel and lazykate that retails for way over $600.00 U.S. I will part with for 300.00 plus shipping to its new home.  Here's a pic of the little lamb....

You People Rock!!

I received a humbling honor today.  Charity named me as one of her Rockin' Girl Bloggers.  Knitting in the North you rock.  I have been feeling low lately and every time I come to the computer this community gives me something to smile about.  I am so blessed - family, friends, and knitting compatriots!

One of the knitters on ravelry.com who I have in my Friends list! woot woot!  Lisa from saratogaknitting sent me a knitting blogger recipe email.  You are going to see Download phylliss_goolash.doc  mmm mmm good!  I took me almost 20 years after mom's death to figure out this family favorite.  And I got it down to a science.  This is cold weather eatin' at it's finest!

Dying - Dyeing - Dye-ing or Dye - Dyed - Died - COLORING!

I really don't like typing that word.  But I like playing with the color so instead of dye-ing I'm gonna call it coloring.  I color wool - there - I like that verb better.  Because when you die you are dead and I am certainly not that.  Maybe hacked and whacked but not gone.  Anyway here is my latest results from my "coloring" pots! I hope you enjoy!

And I love strawberry and chocolate icecream hence the above!

The yarn is 70% merino and 30% silk.  So it has a bit of shimmer.  The yardage is 440 yards. The day was beautiful so the yarn was colored, rinsed clear, hung on the porch to dry.  Sunshine and balmy weather.  Can't get better than that!

Today was a day of coloring and knitting.  I am almost finished with my Hogwarts Socks.  I have all the goodies that are going in the package.  Knitting with 0-1 goes very slowly for me. But I am very pleased with the way the socks are turning out.  So it is worth the slow-go.

Pop Bang Ohhh Errr (I mean) Ahhh Fourth of July

One thing about the 4th I do not like are the amature noise makers.  All it does is scare my animals and make me cranky.  Today has been a rough day and I chewed family members new behinds.  I really don't know how they put up with me...Bless them though!
