Nature’s Tattoo
I want a tattoo someday
Something to mark my body my way.
Not a memory of when I was sick
Red, angry lines that are bumpy and thick.
Not from a surgery;
Something that I want to see
Some wonderful, warm, and from my heart
Not a reminder of a failed body part.
Too many scars have been
Placed here and there-
Marks on my body that
I do not want to share!
My tattoo will be
-something about knitting-
Maybe?
That will set me free.
Nature’s tattoos
are not all they are cracked up to be.
I want a reminder that is special to me!
Color and beauty, family and faith
A wonderful mark to set the record straight.
This is the mark I want to leave
Happy, beautiful, healthy

When a girls' got both what do you do?
Its an anomaly
Sit and worry about what life will be,
No! I don't think thats for me.
I've had cancer twice, in the boob and in the nest;
now I believe cancer needs to recess.
I won't live my life waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Too much to do, to many yarny stores to shop!
Kids to watch marry, grand-babies someday to hold.
cancer had it's time, now it is mine to be bold.
I will forge ahead, never looking behind,
with healthy and happy thoughts in my mind.
I am a survivor, that will always be true,
A survivor with BRCA1 and BRCA2.
My house is in shambles, my classroom is getting kinda the way I want it, and my neck and shoulders are as knotty as my knitting. But I am happy to say that another Yarny Road Trip purchase has been completed!
